Dana

Dana Hash-Campbell, LMT
dhcmassage@gmail.com

Dana is chair of the Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus, Performing Arts Department and Dance Coordinator, and has served as dance trainer, recruiter, teacher, and rehearsal director since 1997.  Dana was a principal dancer and company teacher with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater from 1988-1995, when she retired due to injury.  Since her retirement Dana has become a licensed Massage Therapist and received her BFA in Dance form Long Island University and her MFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.  As a massage therapist she has worked to help dancers avoid injury with her unique Orthopaedic approach to massage therapy. Her injuries inspired her to study science in order to help redefine proper anatomical alignment in dance.  She has been able to further her work in this area with the guidance and assistance of the ADAM Center for Dance Research (formerly SOAR Research), one of only a handful of bio-mechanic research labs dedicated to dance in this country. She is presently the director of the Dance Wellness Program and the ballet program at Long Island University.  You can schedule directly with her through her email above.
